We’ve been traveling for days. It’s going as good as I could have hoped. I am young and healthy so I’ve handled it pretty well. I’ve seen some older women with child and they seem to be struggling a bit more – bless their hearts. By the end of the day, though, my feet are screaming and I have so much pressure it feels like this baby may just drop right out. If only!
It’s actually been nice spending time with Joseph. Talking about our future. The angel said Jesus would take David’s throne and be the son of the Most High. Can the son of the Most High give me grandchildren? It’s baffling, really! So I try not to dwell on it. Have faith I must!
One thing is for sure, we are going to have to come up with more road trip games. “I see something brown” is really getting old. I’m looking forward to making it to the Bethlehem Inn. This sleeping on pallets on the ground is like sleeping in a barn. When things fall silent on the trip, I mentally go through the baby bag. Half of the women say I have weeks to go before Jesus comes, and the other half say he could come any time. Everyone always has advice! But that’s OK. They helped me pack the bag.
Swaddling blankets for warmth. ✔️
Clean string to tie the cord. ✔️
Joseph always has a sharp knife, he’ll be cutting the cord. ✔️
Cloths to keep his bottom clean. ✔️
I hope my milk comes in and is enough for a hungry baby boy. I can’t believe I’m about to be a mother!
Oh, what was that Joseph? You see something brown?
