Ponder This!

Do you like to ponder? I ponder the fact that we used to ponder more back in the “olden days”… the “olden days” meaning my childhood. We used to just sit and talk, on the sundeck swing or in the backyard. Sometimes I thought it was boring, but we sure did a lot of pondering!

I like to ponder even to this day.

Have y’all seen the great sunsets and even sunrises lately? They’ve been incredible. I especially love it when you see the big circle of the sun in it’s orange entirety, low enough you can look directly at it. It’s amazing and never fails to make me ponder space. We live on a suspended ball surrounded by suspended balls, some being burning gas balls! We live in a solar system inside a galaxy inside the universe inside  a…? Who knows what’s out there! The Creator does! And how fascinating to think of God creating and designing the great unknown of space?

Ponder that!

The Krueger/Krein family lost their Aunt Sue this last week. Aunt Sue’s daughter shared on Facebook that her Mom would say every day, “the next face I will see is Jesus,” Amen to that! Amen to Aunt Sue’s strong hope and faith!

I love to ponder that as well! The belief in the second coming and resurrection of the dead. “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the Archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.” I Thessalonians 4:16 ALWAYS gives me chills!  Pondering that controlled chaotic day is actually mind-blowing! Those who sleep in Jesus popping up all over the place! What will the sky look like? What will it sound like? What will His face look like?  It’s very hard to grasp. God told Daniel he would  rest and then rise at the end of days. He demonstrated it for Lazarus. And then because he loved his creation with all of himself, our Savior went through it.

I ponder there are lots of ideas to ponder out there. Creation. Evolution. Reincarnation. Resurrection.

But I’m with Aunt Sue. All my hope is in Jesus. We will see his face on that Resurrection day and it’s an amazing thing to ponder!
