It’s hot and humid. The dirt on the ground offers no place to hide. Bullets are whizzing in every which direction. People are scattering. No one is safe.
What a dirty place. What a disaster has fallen upon this earth. Ever since the Garden of Eden, Satan has been sending out his bullets, aiming at anything and everything in hopes of destruction. Because of this, the people of God are scattering. Dwindling. There are now a scarce few of us left.
Satan has a bullet aiming toward a specific person with a specific problem. That bullet is a temptation for us because it is our human nature to want to run from it. While in some cases that may seem like a valid point, I want to offer you a new solution. The Ephesians 6:16 solution. “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”
I believe that we are called to face our biggest fears and temptations with the shield of faith that God has given us. No bullet of the Devil’s will ever be able to defeat our purpose here on earth. Our shield is able to withstand anything. We are called to stand strong and not flee.
