First night by myself at Sunset Lake Camp. (Church camp in Washington state)
The sky is beautiful. Bugs are playing a symphony. Surrounded by a jungle of trees giving off a fresh aroma.
Tears.
I’m 1,500 miles from home. Separated from my family for eight weeks. Coming into contact with new people each day.
Tonight as I write this, I think of God and the HUGE sacrifice He made—sending His Son to the world. Not only God’s sacrifice, but also Jesus’ sacrifice of His body. Jesus spent way more than eight weeks in new territory. He spent YEARS separated from His Father in Heaven. I think of how He must’ve felt then. Probably a lot like I feel now.
Tears.
I know that the Holy Spirit will fill this void. God’s love and comfort reaches down. Thank you, Jesus.
